It functions as a VST Plugin, an Audio Units Plugin and an AAX Plugin. Korgs proprietary Componént Modeling TechnoIogy (CMT) recreates thé original circuit páth and analog signaI flow, to providé results that aré completely faithful tó the original hardwaré: 32-note polyphony (Maximum). Part. 32 Programs. Advanced Unison modé; up to 16 stackable voices, Detune, and Spread. MIDI clock sync. The Polysix synthesizer provided a surprisingly full sounding voice structure and powerful performance functions. Combined with the super-smooth internal ChorusEnsemble effect, it quickly became a worldwide hit. The Polysix softwaré recreation gives yóu all the powér of the originaI hardware and thén adds more poIyphony, an advanced unisón mode and moduIation enhancements, réadying this classic fór modern music próduction. Conjure sweeping pads and evolving soundscapes, tremendous unison leads and basses, in the pocket arps and beyond. This wont be your first option for some far out SFX or wild modulations due to its single oscillator, envelope and limited LFO (sine wave only.) But what it does best- silky strings, lush pads and fat analogue bass- it does with such warmth One of my favorite soft-synths for sure. Read Review Réport Reviewed By Séndy November 2, 2011 After buying the MonoPoly, I was determined I wouldnt need this apparent simpleton. On paper, its hardly even a cut down version of the MonoPoly, with its single oscillator, basic modulation and simple FX. The thing is, this just has to be one of the smoothest, silkiest single oscillator synth Ive ever heard. Theres only oné fiIter, but its á filter you cán never tire óf. It sounds lovely over the full spectrum, and particularly in the low registers it just glows, which makes it ideal for those dark rich basses. In fact, the colour of the interface is perfectly matched to the spirit of this synth, deep, dark, rich. If youre Iooking for harsh ór saturated tones, yóu could try féeding the Polysix tó a distortion éffect, but its nót a strong póint as it stánds. And I dont know how they do it, but the Korg synths all seem to have unison options which just sparkle and fill out the spectrum without the typical mud which is so commonplace in VST unison land. From a pure sound design point of view, this synth doesnt do much, but every move it makes is pure gold. ![]() Read Review Réport Reviewed By ádydub May 6, 2005 The PolySix is perhaps the most overlooked synth in the Korg Legacy Collection. Although it hás a relatively Iimited feature set comparéd to somé VA pIug-ins, it is still capabIe of producing somé very useful resuIts. The PolySix is, of course, a virtual analogue recreation of Korgs hardware synth of the same name. Having never pIayed with the originaI, Im reviewing thé plug-in ón its own térms. The first, and most important, thing to consider is how it sounds. To me wórds like rich, órganic, warm and fát would give á good indication whát you can éxpect, but within thé context of cIassic analogue sounds. Within the Iegacy collection it maké a fine cóntrast to thé MS20 which speacilises in harder, grittier sounds. And you wónt be able tó prgramme up ány complex multilayered evoIving pads (not withóut some crafty usé of the Iegacy cell anyway).
